DeKalb Lodge 214 Free and Accepted Masons was chartered in 1857. They met in several locations around downtown Auburn before purchasing the Kiblinger building located where their current building is now. In 1921 they razed the Kiblinger building and a new Masonic Lodge Building was built. This building was destroyed by fire just a couple years later and was rebuilt by local builder Roland Muhn. After completing the building, Muhn joined the lodge and was the first person to be made a Master Mason in the building he had just completed.
