This church was founded in 1875, the same year the town was. They first met in a structure called "The Tabernacle" that had sawdust floors. In 1876 the began meeting in an old saloon, and by 1879 they had their own building. It wasn't until 1911 that the growing congregation decided to build a brick structure, and that was dedicated in 1914. The cost of construction was approximately $20,000 ($18,000 for contractor, $1,000 for art glass windows, $1,078 for pews, $250 for carpet, $2,130 for pipe organ). At the dedication the church was debt free with 425 members and an average Sunday School attendance of 275.

Throughout the years ministry has changed to meet the community where they were, but this congregation has survived and thrived through all those changes.
