Concord Christian Fellowship is the steward of this 1890 building. It began as the Concord Methodist Protestant Church which was organized in 1843 by several of the earliest pioneers of the county. They first met in Monroe Schoolhouse near Jenkins Cemetery on CR 56, moved to a simple frame structure in 1852, and finally built this structure in 1890.
John Martin Smith's DeKalb County 1837-1987 says this about this building of the church:
"The new church was built in the latter part of 1890 at a cost of $5,000. It was built of brick made at the brick mill at Concord. The wood was cut and sawed by the lumber mill also at Concord. A bell was installed in the steeple which was to ring out proudly for many years. The stained glass windows are considered today as some of the most beautiful windows in the country."
